Spells —
Essicil is capable of casting cantrips and 1st level spells and ignores arcane spell failure while wearing light armor. The difficulty class of his spells are 15 + the level of the spell. Essicil recovers spells per day after 8 hours of rest. To memorize spells for daily use he must spend 1 hour studying his spell book.
Cantrips: Essicil can cast any cantrip in his spell book without limit so long as he meets the requirements for spell recovery and memorization.
Spellbook: Essicil owns a spell book that contains every spell he owns and is capable of casting. Loss or destruction of this spell book prevents him from memorizing the spells contained. He may copy new duskblade spells from scrolls or other spell books.
Arcane Pool(Su) —
Essicil has 6 points in his arcane reservoir which he can draw upon to benefit from the following effects. These points are restored when Essicil recovers and memorizes his spells for the day.

Spell Combat(Ex) —
Essicil possesses the ability to cast spells while wielding a his weapons. This ability functions in a way similar to two-weapon fighting except that his off-hand weapon is the spell he casts. The spell may be cast before or after all of the attacks with his weapon but not during. He must have one free hand while fighting in order to perform this full-round action. All attacks he makes during the round suffer a -2 penalty. He may cast defensively incurring up to a -5 penalty on attacks to add up to a +5 circumstance bonus on his concentration check.

Alignment: Lawful Neutral — Essicil has no tendencies towards either side of the moral spectrum, though he is devoutly lawful having spent his whole youth in a strict academy. In all things, he demands order whether order leads him to commit an act of good or evil is irrelevant so long as the laws of Sigil are upheld.
Personality: Essicil is a normal, socially function person, until it comes to the Laws of Sigil or a threat of chaos. Breaking a Law or inciting disorder around him is a quick way to find yourself in a cage, awaiting the appropriate punishment. He is fiercely loyal to family, friends, and comrades in arms. He would rather die than leave a man behind, however he is not so foolish as to sacrifice himself if it would be easier to rescue said person later.
Background: Essicil knows next to nothing about his family, having been entered into an academy centered around military training in the martial and arcane arts at a very young age. After graduating with top honors he was offered his choice of post, he selected Sigil, the city of doors and the source of all laws. He has resided within the City Barracks since he arrived and joined the Harmonium, spending his days training his art and and in team tactics. His evenings are spent patrolling the city. He has done so for the past two years.
